Announcing the 2013 Calvin Smith Brass Quintet Competition and Festival
Location and Setting:
The Calvin Smith Competition and Festival will take place June 7-8 at the University of Tennessee, in Knoxville, Tennessee. The competition will be open to all brass quintets consisting of two trumpets, one horn, one trombone OR euphonium and one tuba OR bass trombone. The festival will include brass coachings, masterclasses, concerts and exhibits in addition to the competition.
Competition Rules and Eligibility:
The competition is open to any brass quintet featuring two trumpets, one horn, one trombone or euphonium and one tuba or bass trombone that wishes to perform the required repertoire. Quintets may compete regardless of their professional status.

Competition Entry fee:
$25/person if registration is completed before 1 April, 2013. $50/person if registration is completed after 1 April, 2013.
